Glop & Glam is onto something.  Created in 2007 by Santa Barbara, California mom of two and salon owner Andrea Ridgell, the line fills a void in the market place for high-end, health conscious kid-friendly styling products for children.

Ridgell and her husband Nathan took their time to rigorously research ingredients that are not only functional but fully safe for children.  Ridgell’s background in the styling business, which she began at age 16, gave her insight to what kids and their parents want.  They came up with a delicious line of cool and fun products that make kids hair look, feel and smell great, without any harmful and damaging chemicals found in many hair products, such as alcohol, paraben and hydantoin dmdm (formaldehyde).

Using organic ingredients such as aloe, Echinacea, aspalathus linearis leaf extract, euterpeoleracea fruit extract,  green tea, glycine soja sprout (a soybean based additive for protein to growing hair) and other moisturizing and nourishing elements, and of course, without any animal testing, and made in American, they formulated Glop & Glam.

The formulation gives you confidence in using the products on your children, but the way the products work to make your kid’s hair look great, and the fun packaging that makes kids enjoy using the products, are the clincher.

The eye-candy decanters, in bright colors and shaped like orbs and magic potion bottles, are adorable on the sink counter or in a kid’s room.  With names like “Bubble Gum Gel,” “Banana Spike Putty” and “Chocolate Controller” that smell as good as they sound, kids love to (help) apply them.  The company also makes colored extensions to weave into kids’ hair for a fun and exciting look.
